Wizard's New CMC 8000 Exceeds Sales Goals
MUKILTEO, Washington -- Wizard International, Inc. announced first-quarter sales exceeding the 300 order mark for its newest innovation, the Wizard Model 8000 CMC. Orders for the Wizard 8000 represent nearly 10% of the company’s existing customers. The Wizard 8000 includes options and techniques requested by current Wizard users and cultivated by Brian Wolf, CPF, GCF.

Since its unveiling in January 2003, at the West Coast Art and Frame show, sales for the Wizard 8000 have grown rapidly. While Wizard planned for a successful entry into the CMC market given its well respected reputation in the art & framing industry, the overwhelming demand for Wizard 8000’s has been quite a surprise.

“Not only is the 8000 a success, its popularity among framers is far more than we could have imagined, especially in the current economy. We designed the 8000 to utilize the most cutting-edge technology with the goal of also making it the most user-friendly CMC for framers. Making it so affordable was a pleasant bonus for Wizard and our customers,” said Edd Pratt, Wizard Sales & Marketing Manger.

Wizard employees celebrated their collective efforts on the 8000 from concept to creation and finally to production with a ribbon cutting and employee appreciation ceremony. Wizard co-owners, Bill Wridge and Lloyd Everard, made the monumental cut on the very first Wizard 8000 right before it was packed and shipped to the first 8000 recipient, Art & Frame Depot of Walnut, Calif.

Brian Wolf continues to be instrumental in the Wizard 8000 calibration process, by defining quality assurance and final inspection standards. The first 100 model 8000’s will leave Wizard Headquarters with Wolf’s stamp of approval, represented by a signed final inspection mat. Inspection mats are cut by every CMC right before they are packed for shipping to ensure quality standards and proper calibration. Mats that do not meet Wolf’s stringent quality standards are rejected and the CMC must be recalibrated.

Wizard International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of framing technology tools, began selling computerized mat cutters to custom framers in 1994. As an innovative force in the picture framing industry, Wizard continues to manufacture the leading computerized mat cutter, placing over 3,500 machines worldwide.
